Young Australian Music Audiences 2026

Music matters to young Australians. They've told us so for three years running, and our 2026 research reveals what live music gives them, and what's stopping them from getting it. This research isn't about changing tastes or a tough live music market. It's a clear message about what young Australians need to take part in cultural and community life.

NSW Good Practice Guide

In 2025, we turned up the volume on Access All-Ages calling on our leaders to back young people’s right to belong in live music, not just watch it from the sidelines. Our proposal for national All-Ages Events Teams is about funding real opportunities for young Australians to lead, create and share music in their own communities. From regional towns to outer-suburban suburbs, we know young people want music that’s local, affordable and powered by them.
