Parliamentary Inquiry into the challenges within the Australian live music industry
We made a submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Australian live music industry to put young people’s real experiences, as audiences, artists and future industry makers front and centre of the national conversation. The submission highlights the things we’ve been hearing for years: music plays a huge part in young people’s lives, but access is shrinking, costs are rising, and there aren’t enough pathways for young people to be part of the scene in a real way. It calls for targeted action from better research and financial support for all‑ages events to smarter licensing laws, youth‑focused programs and career pathways that actually work, not just tick boxes. At its core is a simple message: if we want a thriving live music future, we need to back young people with real opportunities and real support.
