Amplify

Live music is a rite of passage for young people. Amplify gives young Victorians the chance to experience it and create it.

Amplify is a program for young people aged 12–25 across Victoria. Through 61 local committees, young people plan and run all-ages live music and cultural events for their communities.

It has been running since 1997 (originally known as FReeZA) and started so that young people had their own spaces to experience live music. Today, it goes further: young people lead events, learn new skills, and open doors into music and the creative industries.

As part of an Amplify committee, you’ll gain hands-on experience booking artists, planning events, promoting gigs, managing budgets and working with venues and community partners.

Amplify also gives local musicians paid gigs, helping them build audiences and grow their confidence on stage.

Whether you’re into music, photography, design, event management, performing, or just want to try something new, Amplify gives you the space and support to make it happen.
